Now We Have 2 Socks......
YAY! I am finally done with them. Of course, I am sad that I had to give them away but I know that they will be appreciated though she will not get them until the Christmas Party at my mom's work.

Summer Road Trip to Houston....NKOTB part 2

July 18th, Mandy showed up at my house and after show polishing her Xterra we headed towards Houston. It would be the last concert for NKOTB indefinately. (We are all hoping that we get a new album and tour next year) We plugged in her Iphone and listened the way down there to NKOTB, as well as talking about the concert the night before.
Mandy and I didn't go to that one together but she was there too. We were going to go to Angela's house, me to rest and Mandy was going to go straight to the amphitheater as she was chosen to work for Joey's Let's Get This foundation book drive. We would meet up later at our seats.
Speaking of our seats, we had no idea where they were but when Angela and I got to them we about died. Right in front of our row was a table.... a table that a New Kid would be dancing and singing on during the song Single. I immediately called Mandy's cell to tell her as she was still working. Oh yes, there was loud screaming by us!! We had Jordan right in front of us! He is so sex=ay. He even danced with Mandy. Me, I was attacked form behind so I got great pics but no dancing with Jordan.
The concert was great! Emotional, beyond words. Some of the Texas girls from the ning group had gotten together and planned out towels to hold up at certain times and then we all had a tealight candle to hold during the song I'll Be Loving You Forever. It was beautiful! We made the boys cry. There are some awesome videos out there of this moment and I watch them whenever I want to relive this night. I videoed One Song and I watch it alot too.
The entire weekend I took over 1,000 photos. It was an amazing experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
Thanks Erica, Angela, Mandy, Katie, Krissi, Tanna, P, all my new Block Head friends and of course...Danny, Joe, Jon, Jordan and Ddub himself, Donnie Wahlberg for an unforgettable experience.

Long Overdue Post...Weekend of NKOTB part 1

My obsession began a long time ago probably about age 13, my walls were covered top to bottom with posters of Donnie, Danny, Joe, Jon and Jordan....New Kids on The Block. They were my everything.
My cousin Crystal and I were lucky enough to get tickets to a concert at Starplex Amphitheatre in Dallas. My parents drove us and we followed a limo into the parking lot and then I got sick. So of course, we had to leave. It wasn't too long after that...they broke up and I knew I'd never get to see them again. Or soI thought....
Fast forward 15 years and an accidental flip of the tv and there they were......Back together again...........A new album and tour in the works. I failed to get tickets to the Dallas concert when they went on sale and they sold out! But a few days before the concert tickets were in mine and Mandy's possesion. AAC, NKOTB Oct 19, 2008! It was amazing!!!!
Then the amazing 5 announced the Spring part of their tour, of course, they were not coming to Dallas this time but instead to Hidalgo, Tx...9 hours away...10 minutes from Mexico. Road trip!!
This concert was better than the 1st as I got Danny and OMG! Donnie sweat on my hand.
Then the Summer tour was announced and "Meet and Greet" tickets for Dallas were mine thanks to my BF Erica. We aganized over clothes, what we would say, what we would do..........once again I was at Starplex but now called Superpages.com Center and it was July in Texas and it was HOT!!!! We sweated and sweated and melted, along with about 300 more fans who were also going to meet them. We had preformed our group but of course, we got seperated so there was Erica, me , Tanna and our resident "man Fan" P.
In our group with us were 6 women, who had met them several times before and they were all of course, Donnie girls like me. This upset me. Maybe I was being a whine baby but it was my once in a lifetime chance to talk to Donnie and have my picture taken beside him and they were rude and wouldn't give me a chance. So our time came and in I walked. I immediately went over to Jon who stood beside the kiddie table, where Danny's 2 girls were and Elijah, Donnie's youngest. I made some cute comment about sitting at the kiddie table with Jon and OMG!! he laughed and hugged me. I also told him how much I enjoyed his tweets. Next to Jon was his brother Jordan and I got a quick hug from him before I asked Jon if I could stand by him on the photo.
I then heard someone yelling "Hey you" I looked over towards Donnie and he and the 2 girls standing next to him were waving me over. I assumed that one of them would move and let me be next to him but as I approached Donnie motioned towards his waist and told me "grab on and hang on tight". Now I ask you who could say no to that man?? I had to bend down and wrap my arms around his waist, I pressed my head against his chest and I could hear the man's heart beating. Sigh, it was Heaven. Two quick pictures and then I backed up and asked Donnie if he would please read my shirt that I had made just for the occassion. Now the shirt said "Beat me, Spank me, Donnie, can I touch your body? It is my favorite line in the song Big Girl that they sing with Lady Gaga. The man turned to his side and took my 2 hands and rubbed them along his body. I DIED right there!!!
Danny was on my out and so I grabbed a quick hug and out we went. I totally missed Joey Joe! I was very disappointed in our tickets. We were 6th row and to the left of the stage. But I did get some great shots! The concert was sooooooooo good. The boys were beyond belief.
Now on to the house to pack for the Houston road trip and the last concert of the year.
Angela here we come........

What you can do on A Sunday..........

so football season officially started and I am not a fan. I popped in my Grey's Anatomy season 3 dvd's and started on the pair of socks for my mom to give to a girl at work for Christmas. I got this one done by the time I went to bed last night. Obviously with me subbing this week the second one will not get done as quickly.
I am loving the yarn though so I will probably have to make me a pair soon, too.

Second Grade Homework
This is our first night of sitting downand doing real homework. Yes he brought home work in Kindergarten and First grade but now we get actual number grades. We had to do sentences and study for a spelling test, we had to practice our doubles in math and then we had to write a summary on Chapters 1 and 2 of a book he read. For those of you who do not know Jarrett does not like to write so the summary was a huge challenge.
We also combined all of the homework for the whole week into two nights as we had the Er incident and he didn't go to school on Tuesday, so mommy fudged a bit. Jarrett told me what to write for his summary. I know, bad mom, but after the week we had I felt I could do it just this one time. Hopefully his teacher agrees. :)

Just Another Manic Monday...Seriously

Yes, this is how we spent Russell's first day of his vacation. The nurse called from school around noon and told me Jarrett's lungs sounded yucky and I needed to get him into the doctor. We called the Pediatrician's office and away we went. We got to Dr Holly around 1:50 and it went downhill from there.
Jarrett is normally energetic and talkative and even though he was very sick, he was still in a good mood. His oxygen level was fluctuating between 91 and 93, 98 and above is where they want it and he was over-compensating his breathing. His poor little lungs were starving for air. After several treatments and several viewings of The Lion King an ambulance was called. We were transported to Children's Medical in Plano. Jarrett was very excited to get on the gurney and have all the seatbelts acros him.
Jarrett loved the ambulance ride. He asked for his blood pressure to be taken several times as he loved his arm being squeezed. He also liked the fact that he could see daddy in the car behind us and we waved at him several times. The ride was a bit long, construction on 121 and a wreck but about 35 minutes later we arrived.
After being wheeled in and transfered from the gurney to a bed we began the long wait. Waiting for his heart rate and his blood pressure to lower and his breathing to return to normal. Along with the wait we also dealt with blue lips and blue around his mouth. This kind of freaked us all out.
He was very surprised when his Nanny and PaPa showed up to keep him company for a bit. He entertained the nurses, the doctor..telling her at one point he had never been to medical school and other staff members as well as us.
Jacob and Nanny Roxanne also showed as they could not stay away.
We were finally discharged around 10:oo pm and of course, had to make a stop at Wal Mart...not for prescriptions but for a new Lego, mommy and daddy had promised him a new Lego to bribe him to cooperate with the doctors and nurses.
Jarrett was home from school today but will get to go back tomorrow. We followed up with Dr Holly again today and she has put him on pe and recess restriction until we meet with the pulmonologist tomorrow and see what he says.
Hopefully the rest of our week will be BORING>
